Hello to the New League Year!

Wow! We are just days away from wrapping up an absolutely fantastic League year! We saw a great number of wonderful women join the Junior League of Daytona Beach, eager to help make a positive impact in our community. We successfully added 3 new Community projects and watched them flourish in addition to ones we’ve been doing for years. We added to our Fund Development projects and saw the largest ever crowd at the Sweetheart Ball. Our first ever Box-A-Thon had us putting on gloves to “knock out” some fundraising goals! The Junior League of Daytona Beach Thrift Shop came home, returning to our historic building in downtown Daytona Beach and is now exceeding sales expectations.

A new League year starts June 1. It holds all of the expectations of last year and then some! We are starting off early, in a big way! We will host an Emmy Award winning producer, a Congressman, and AJLI’s Executive Director among the human trafficking experts at our Light the Way Luncheon and Symposium. It’s an event you don’t want to miss.

With the new year comes new placements, new committees, new requirements and new friends. You may need to contact someone about a project or meeting. You are going to need to sign up for some volunteer slots. You’ll also want to check your hours to make sure you are on track to meet your requirements.

The good news is that all of this information is readily available to you, 24/7! Just visit our gorgeous new website at jldb.org, and select Member Login to go to VolunteerMatters. Enter your username and password.

HOW DO I SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER? Sign into VolunteerMatters as described above. Click on the Volunteer icon, select your chosen event on the calendar and then click Sign Up Now!

WHERE CAN I FIND ANOTHER MEMBER’S EMAIL OR PHONE NUMBER? Sign into VolunteerMatters as described above. Select the Directory icon and type their name into the Quick Find box. While you are in the Directory, be sure to check your own profile to make sure we have your current information including your birthday. This is where the birthday list for the Beach Blast is generated so we need your birthday here!

HOW MANY CREDITS DO I HAVE? Sign into VolunteerMatters as described above. Select the Me icon to go to My Profile and then click on the Requirements tab. You can see your progress for all of this year’s requirements.

WHAT ELSE CAN I FIND IN MY PROFILE? You will find lots of information including your Membership ID number, your contact information like address, email address, phone numbers, placement team, status, and placement history.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CHECK MY CREDITS? Monthly is a good goal. That way the credits have likely had time to be entered and you will have a good grasp on how you’re progressing.
