For Immediate Release April 5, 2010 Junior League of Daytona Beach to award $19,000 for community grant distribution. Funding for this project is raised through the Junior League of Daytona Beach’s Thrift Shop, as well as Casino Night, Sweetheart Ball and other various fundraisers that they hold throughout the year. This year there will be $19,000 for distribution between many grants. The following “rules” apply in order to participate: · Your agency must be approved by the IRS as a nonprofit, charitable or educational organization. · The grant requests may not exceed $3000; these purposes must be of an immediate or emergent need, and the money must be used for a specific purpose. · This can be for a purchase or something that will impact direct service. In addition, to any funding that we may provide you via a grant that is awarded, the Junior League of Daytona Beach is very committed to the community and is very interested in seeking out “hands on” projects that could be done for your organization. As part of the award process, the League would like to see that the Junior League of Daytona Beach is acknowledged for helping make whatever project you are awarded for possible. This acknowledgment can come in the form of permanent signage, and mentions in your newsletter or website. Parties that are interested may go to the Junior League Website for more information and to download the application at www.jldb.org, Please ensure that your application is compliant and received or postmarked no later than May 5, 2010.
